The Graford Lady Rabbits volleyball team played a scrimmage game at home against the Prairie Valley Lady Bulldogs Aug. 8, losing three out of five sets, 25-14; 25-8; 21-25; 25-21; 13-25; and 25-14.
Graford head coach Derek Wuthrich said he sees the potential for this team and that it just needs to be developed.
“We’re playing with a lot of younger girls that are playing new positions, it will take time to become more proficient,” he said.
Team members are Rachel Ray, Ali Brown, Kyndze Pendergraft, Chelsy Rife, Sunni Lemley, Taylor Penn, Shasta Welch, Amanda Francies, Betsy Lizalde, Brianna Lindsay, Rebecca Richardson, Samantha Roe, Damita Montalvo, Lacie Bell and Izzy Balvantin.
“The girls did pretty well considering they only had four days of practice,” said Miriam Ramirez, assistant coach.
The upcoming schedule for August is:
• 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, Lady Cardinals at Lingleville.
• Thursday-Saturday, Aug. 14-16, Lady Cowgirls at the Bryson Tournament, time to be announced.
• 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, Lady Tigers at Gustine.
• Thursday and Friday, Aug. 21-22, Lady Panthers at the Gorman Tournament, time to be announced.
• 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, Lady Bears at Goldburg .
• Thursday-Saturday, Aug. 28-30, Lady Lions at the Dublin Tournament, time to be announced.
The first scheduled home game will be at 5 p.m., Tuesday, Sept.
